Please take note of the road closures and traffic diversions in place during the Speed Classic Cape Town build-up, race, and strike period. Thank you for your cooperation.
Build Schedule & Road Closures
Philip Kgosana Drive will be closed to outbound traffic from 19h00 to 05h00, Sunday 19 October to Wednesday 22 October. Inbound lanes will remain open throughout, and outbound traffic will operate as normal outside these hours.
From 05h00 on Thursday 23 October until 05h00 on Monday 27 October, Philip Kgosana Drive, as well as Christiaan Street and Service Road, will be closed to both inbound and outbound traffic.
To minimise the impact on public needing to travel to town for work or school on the Monday morning, Philip Kgosana Drive inbound will reopen to traffic from 5am on 27 October.
To allow for the removal of structures post-event, Philip Kgosana Drive outbound will be completely closed on Monday 27 October and between 19h00 and 05h00 from Tuesday 28 October until Thursday 30 October.

Please plan your travel accordingly and avoid Philip Kgosana completely.
The following routes are safe to take:
- N1 incoming and outgoing
- N2 outgoing, via the City Centre and Nelson Mandela Blvd (incl. Strand Street & Hertzog Boulevard connections)
- N2 incoming, diverting onto Nelson Mandela Blvd and taking the Strand Street and Hertzog Boulevard exits.
